Now that the holiday season is fully upon us, I've been thinking about how to get really good use out of my knitting obsession - I think that I have made waaayy too many scarves in the last few years, and it might be time to pass them on to people who might really appreciate them.
So, one project for tomorrow is definitely going to be sorting through the piles of scarves, and thinking who might get some good use - I think it's going to be a really cold winter around these parts!
After spending a grand total of five nights and four days with my beloved, albeit small, family for Thanksgiving, and with not a whit of work obligations on the agenda for the day, I can spend this rainy Monday at home in peace AND quiet -- trying very very hard NOT to participate in CyberMonday (even though I'm always facing the laptop on my kitchen table), I'm able to knit to my heart's content!
Believe me, I'm as happy as the next person to be involved in the world outside my apartment, but today is one of those luscious days when I don't have to leave it ... having said that, just watch: the phone will ring and I will have to call myself a liar.
After patiently waiting for an extra 9 days to get my Promenade Shawl Kit from Sommerfuglen, I'm embarking once again on one of my favorite knits: simple garter, beautiful colors!
I may actually finish this one this winter - the last one took me a couple of years, strictly out of boredom - but boredom is now totally welcome ...
pretty soon I'm going to get really fed up with knitting cowls - I looked on my ravelry page and noticed that most of the projects that I've been making for the last year or so are comprised of scarves, cowls, shawls, stoles, and more cowls -
I think I've got to get back to finishing a sweater or two, don't you agree?
but I DO have something to share ... the most luscious cowl is being knit out of the MOST LUSCIOUS YARN ever - Mink & Cashmere from Great Northern Yarns.
every time I get to the end of a row, I have to give myself a few minutes just to FONDLE it! it is THAT scrumptious - even if you don't knit, you should just buy a skein to have it around ...
